…the year fans tried to turn the All-Star Game Red?
Every summer, Major League Baseball invites fans to help select the starters for the All-Star Game.
And most of the time, the fans do a pretty good job, voting for a combination of stars, hometown favorites, deserving new faces and--occasionally--players who might not be quite so deserving.
Most fans take the All-Star voting process seriously. And while it’s easy to quibble with a selection here and there, it’s rare to see more than an occasional egregious lapse in judgment.
At least not since 1957.
